This luxurious handmade-to-order 22.4" or 29" square 100% silk satin scarf features the "Bewoner van den Libanon" character from a hand-colored Karl Joseph Brodtmann stone lithograph from H.R. Schinz's 1840 Naturgeschichte und Abbidungen des Menschen. This man could be of Arab, Phoenician, or Canaanite descent. Brodtmann was part of the ' post-Linnaean Age of Enlightenment, hand-colouring sets for biologists and the aristocracy. Brodtmann's work displayed a remarkable sense of aesthetics and scientific accuracy. This posh 100% silk satin scarf is finished with a rolled pin hem.
